SPAT is a research tested mnemonic tool for evaluating the reliability of a website's content.

The mnemonic stands for Site, Publisher, Audience, Timeliness.

SPAT has gone through extensive scientific testing. You will gain the tools and knowledge to assess website content and decide if what you are reading is correct and trustworthy. We show how to use the SPAT tool and give you an opportunity to practice using it.

Once you have learned how to use the tool, you are welcome to send us feedback using the message board or our contact form. Your contributions help us to further refine the SPAT process.
